Danger Danger Child At Pond Edge
Grasshopper was the first to sound the alarm.
Small child at the edge of the cattail pond.
Danger! Danger! Where is this human’s mommy?
Beetle and ant crept by for support.
Who is strong enough to pull her out of the water?
A bullfrog put in an opinion or two.
Where is the child’s parent? Danger! Danger!
The toddler was unaware, happy to be free.
Dragonfly enlisted the help of cardinal and blue jay.
They trilled and tweeted until a human mother arrived.
Danger averted, but it took every ounce of effort.
