LOL ... a lifetime in three lines. Three lines to state their cycle and a lifetime of digging them out. Seems a fair enough attention.

Ha ha ha! I didn’t enter and isn’t it over? I was just playing b/c I enjoyed all the dandelion poems and I’ve been gone. So it’s like jump rope, I just added in without any reason for the hop!

As kids we loved dandelions, but not so much the busy bees, because ran barefooted through them and getting stung was no fun.. Great haiku my great friend..

We wore flip flops or sandals almost from Spring through Summer... six or seven months of the year (California)! I did step on a bee when I was about 25 and I was very swollen and sick (only time I didn’t slip on flip flops). We did make a million wishes on those floaty puffs though.

Thank you Janece. Yes, I wish PS would change the coding for Haiku and Senryu and allow us to post with no title. Yet, I’m sure they have to have a way to catalogue these. Maybe just a number would do? Anyhoo, I did try to put the whole life cycle of the Dandelion into three lines. Challenging. Thank you for your comments and the read.

The white puffs are what makes this valuable flower so much fun for children and help it proliferate. I don't think of it as a weed rather a valued herb. You managed to concisely describe the dandelion in this wonderful haiku. Very impressive! xxoo

Awwww thank you! They were our fuel for making wishes as children. They were the leaves in our spring salads as young adults. They furled our brow when they invaded our pristine lawns in middle age, they were wine for summers when we were 50 and had time to brew the brew. Now I just write about them!

You aptly managed to describe the life cycle of a dandelion in just three lines, Edlynn. It will take you much longer to make dandelion wine :) Regards // paul

... ha ha, and even longer than the wine making to get those dandelions to stop growing in every crevices, pot, or wrinkle in the road. I’m convinced they need to learn our habit of making them into salad so they will be a tad more discouraged. I think long after we are all gone from the planet, when the planet is gone, there will be dandelions growing bravely on exoplanets and other moons. LOL!

I have a few bottles of Dandelion wine sitting here for summer. It is also a great Ray Bradbury novel (I like the first novel but the sequel was not so wonderful). Dandelions are worth a good wish or two.
