Dancing In the Night

I grabbed your hand and we raced into the night
To escape the shackles of the light

Wild whispers chased our backs but we were carefree
Tilting our heads back to cry with glee

In the echoes of past songs the wrongs were concrete
But they led to this moment for us to meet

Two lovers weary of a broken heart
Two souls looking for a start

We scrambled our way up the hill
Holding each other in the chill

For once I want to sway in the breeze
To escape the freeze

When I look into your eyes I see no lies
A kiss to the lips is greeted with sighs

And this was how we began dancing in the night
Young love burning so very bright

what a charming romantic poem Christopher I especially love the line 'Two lovers weary of a broken heart Two souls looking for a start' I think this is something many can relate to but there is always hope that you eventually meet a soul mate:-) hugs jan xx
