Dancing
We were married in the Spring.
Everyone came...
It was a beautiful day,
that I will re-live in my heart,
again and again, forever and thereafter.
At the ceremony
everyone stayed for food,
and cake, and love, and laughter.
The colors run together,
the flowers and the icing,
as if all things were
made of the same special stuff.
The fluff inside teddy bears,
and the strength of the Father...
tying together, souls as one.
Later, everyone left.
One by one, goodbyes were sung.
We were finally alone,
but the music continued.
It played low in the distance,
soft drums of our times, and chimes.
That is when the dance, truly began,
and I know now, it will never end.
