Dancing
I have two left feet,
but my man,
he has two rights.
Together we make it
far across the floor,
and back again...
to the door.
We can barely hear the music,
as we are getting old,
and our parts, but not our hearts
are wearing out.
Yet the melody of time...
lingers long enough in the afterglow,
to let us know we should never fear,
being alone.
The day is quiet now.
You are gone,
but I can still hear you breathing,
in my sleep.
Jesus keeps me from crying,
and dying
every day...
for the rest of my life.
One day we will dance again.
I believe that.
I know that.
Then,
I hum low
and remember us...
ever on the go.
Amen.
