Dance of the Particles

DANCE OF THE PARTICLES In their Quark mass attributes and their lofty Spin pursuits, Comes the new Cute particles with their Charmed quarked articles. Will they be Strange in a life that's long? Is Truth and Beauty their new song? Are they a Charm or is that wrong? What can you show us by Hadron? What's the recipe or math In this CERN Collider bath? One Beauty, one Strange, and one Down quark, that weigh, align, and spin, and spark. Six times more Massive than any Protons, is the new weight for two new Baryons; the building blocks of all known things, planets, people, and machines. New Baryons short lived, break into smaller pieces, in this dance that never ceases. Little bits we never see, now described as quarks b, s, and d. Their secret math showed their existence. All known tests put up resistance. Then the Hadron pushed them near and showed new Baryons crystal clear. Edlynn Nau

I found this extremely interesting, Edlynn! I have always been more of an "arts" person, so I admire anyone who understands and practices science.

In thoughtful rhymes and a charming tone, Edlynn Nau brings life, joy and excitement back to knowledge and discovery. She reminds us as readers that everything is interconnected and that by seeking more knowledge, we allow the dance of our existence to play out beautifully. Edlynn awakens her readers to understand that it wasn't only a scientific contribution, but rather a piece of the puzzle. Review By: Aimee Tittlemier, Author, Copy Editor

Don't need to be into Science. I'm just wanting to be the bridge between those that are trying to understand everything in our universe and the person on the street, or person who hated science, b/c it was made so dull & dry, b/c no one demonstrated the excitement, the intrigue, nor pointed to the the jaw dropping beauty! I so Grok that beauty! If I can just translate that a little tiny bit then, we are looking through the same kaleidoscope.

REVIEW: Kristyn Van Cleave Before reading the first line, the particles begin their dance in the reader’s head. This poem, written to honor Professor Steven R. Blusk and his team’s discovery of two new Baryons, is a true work of art. Edlynn Nau has done a wonderful job of exploring the beauty of the Baryon, the quark, “the building blocks of all things,” in a way that anyone can enjoy. A common man unaware of Baryons or even atomic structures in general is lead to appreciate these particles through Nau’s beautiful description of their “dance.” The poem pulls the reader through an amazing journey, starting from particles’ loftiness as they begin their dance and through the intense tests that make them work harder, and dance faster. Edlynn Nau has woven science and poetry together seamlessly with “Dance of the Particles,” and the finished product is a thing of beauty for all to enjoy.

Oh boy! Someone else that has studied Physics and you know you can never know too much nor learn it all. Thank you so much for reading this and stopping by to give feedback. I always appreciate the comments! If you enjoy Physics, look for a poem I posted titled, "Don't Feed the Particles at the Zoo". I will make a point to stop by and read a few of yours too!

Thanks you Michael! It is a love of mine...the study of everything minute and tiny and it's replica on the grand scale in the universe! I'm simply curious and astounded. I read an article on the new Baryons & then found articles in the NY newspaper when they interviewed Dr Blusk. Professors are easy to google and get their Emails. I started Emailing Dr Blusk and now we are FB friends & occasionally say hey or comment. Poetry can teach, inspire, and bring about friends that might not have otherwise ever met.
