Love interrupted by a hawk, Very nicely penned Sara

Joseph, Yes, love between the two mockingbirds was interrupted by an overhead predator. Thanks for the nice review of my work. Sara

Five lines that say so much about life - from fresh expectations to living alone. Congratulations on a fine posting. Brian

Thank you, Brian. I appreciate the kind review. Sara

Life has frames of joy and sadness. You captured them both Sara. Nature is soothing when we think of our travails.

March 31, 2022 at 1:01 PM

Why, thank you, Vijay. Yes, life offers a great variety. Sara

Don't indulge in imaginary fears, Sara !No one can predict what is going to happen in future ! Live life in the best possible manner and trust in God. He will take care of us ! A fine tanka, but the shift from the romantic to the tragic is a little disturbing !

March 31, 2022 at 7:57 AM

Valsa, Since the 3rd line is the shift line, I took it in a completely different way from bird to human but the overhead shadow for the birds could have been a hawk which could have swooped down and taken one of them out. So, I went with the shift to human. Sorry it is disturbing, I guess I need to change my theme for awhile. Thanks for the visit. Sara

When we get old its normal to take a few steps back to when we were vibrant in love and living carefree, love this , winning wishes Sara

I totally agree. We reach the comfort stage of loving each other for who we are and accept the fact there are differences even though we might not like those differences. We still disagree sometimes. Your visit is encouraging. Sara

ahhh, some symbolism here. Good job, Sara.

March 30, 2022 at 4:46 PM

Andrea, just a little touch from a bird flying over casting a shadow frightening those two birds for just a second or two. It was only a dove or redbird but one of them gave a warning call to the other one and the dance stopped momentarily. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Thank you for your comment. I know the poem is a bit sad, but that's where the muse took me. Regards.

Victor, I say write what is in your heart and it will touch someone. Your visit to my page was uplifting. Sara

March 29, 2022 at 5:17 AM

The last page in your story is still not yet written, so hope is still alive. I am sure there are still people out there in need of your wisdom\life experience. All the best David in NZ

March 29, 2022 at 7:43 AM

David, Yes, only God knows the ending. He will spare many believers still alive the experience of death for we hall be caught up together in the air with Him. We might be in that number. Life experience/s are different for each person and each person does have so much to offer the next generation if only they wanted to learn. Your visit was uplifting. Sara

Beautifully written my friend. Never fear old age my friend. It is not an end but a beginning. We are immortal. Only the body dies but the spirit lives on. WHERE we live on is up to us. WHO do we call Master. WHO do we call Father. That decides it all. God Bless, JB

Judy, I have made my reservation but only through the shed blood of Jesus. I like your faith-based and testimony about the way to get to heaven. I am glad that you shared because at some point we can meet in heaven. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

Great tanka, Sara, but that last two lines bother me, has your husband passed. If so my friend prayers. Thank you for the great inspiring compliment. Blessings my friend

March 28, 2022 at 2:03 PM

Eve, no, my husband has not passed. His brother-in-law passed last year as did his sister within six months of each other. I think she grieved herself to death. It is something that I don't want to dwell upon, but I know unless we go at the same time one or the other will be left for a while without the other one. Thank you for your visit and concern. Sara

So sweet the dance of love, Very nicely penned Sara..

March 28, 2022 at 7:43 AM

Thank you, Joseph. Love is what keeps the world going around. If God/Jesus did not love us it would all fall apart. Your visit is so appreciated. Sara

Enjoyed, although I prefer watching their aerials, like this photo I took of California thrashers hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%A1jl:CaliforniaThrashers.jpg

March 27, 2022 at 4:11 PM

Rico, Thanks for internet address but it did not go to what you were referring to in your comments. I am sure it is exciting to watch. I will look up California Thrashers. I am sure they are somewhat different from the species here. The Brown Thrashers here are very impressive. Thanks for your visit. Sara

That's nice Sara. All lovers do some kind of dance during life. Sometimes we dance alone which makes me totally free. I only dance in my head. Then I can be Astaire or Kelly to my heart's delight. As long as u have u on which to fall back, yr never alone. Be safe.

March 27, 2022 at 8:42 AM

Dave, Thank you for the nice comment. Ginger Rogers in my imagination would be nice. LOL..Sometimes I think how hard it would be to be alone, but, of course, we are never alone if we have our faith. Our 60th wedding anniversary will come about this year if we both make it until then. Sara
