Dad the Song Leader

My mother used to fuss at dad, in church he’d lead the singing He really wasn’t that great a singer and kept my mother fussing On the way to church one day as mom to dad was speechin My brother and me sat in the back as we just sat and listened I guess they didn’t realize we had heard all that was said As our mom had really set the law down to our dad. The service was underway when the preacher made a summond He was in need of a song leader and called for brother Raymond My mom was really quite upset, that was only plain As little brother Alan said “well mom, there he goes again. As laughter rang from wall to wall my mother turned rose red From that day on when in the car our folks watched what they said.
