Cutting Room Floor Poems - 6

A Lizard's Body

A lizard's body will prevail,
and regenerate another tail.
Consider the question, "can...
a crusty, creaking man?"
This morning I shall shed my skin,
to let out a younger man within,
the answer to reveal -
you'll know it by its feel.

No AC

The go-go girls all fell in a swoon
in the enchilada bar this afternoon.
I wasn't feeling so well myself -
all the good books were off the shelf.

Big Mouthed Parrot

A colorful bird with a big mouth
and a relationship that headed South -
when she says, "Polly wants a cracker",
I just want to smack her,
but I wanted to strangle the avian jerk
when she said, "Quick, my husband's still at work."

I'm Mr. Know it All

I'm Mr. Know it All.
I make things up inside my head,
and, in the Spring and early Fall,
I copy someone else instead.
Then, these wisdom pearls, I share,
and wonder why you do not care.

An Elf's Resume

Self-starting, industrious,
perhaps, a little mischievous...
but anyway
an elf's resume
isn't something to trust.
