Curious Crazy
Curious Crazy
Oh how I wish I could go back to days when I was a child.
When waking up wasn't a chore, but lying in bed was Oh! such a bore.
When I was driven by something good, a curious crazy that filled my brain,
and I couldn't wait to see what the Good Lord had planned for me that day.
Those days as a child I lived naturally, loving life from dusk to dawn,
and curiosity did not get the better of me but drove my innocence and helped me see
all things sweet and simply.
With curious crazy I discovered, I played and I learnt.
I made friends with ease and we all climbed trees, chased daffodils
and clouds with glee. When running was fun and slowing down a no go.
But! Something happened to curious crazy, the day I went to school.
I used to skip and count pebbles one two three, but learning math's took counting out of me.
I studied earth worms after a summer's rain but couldn't anymore, because of Biology.
We trailed paths by moonlight, wondering where they would lead and what made the earth, but in geography we had to go, so in fields of forever where we once learnt, we could no longer go.
We sat around elders hearing yesterday stories but in to school we were made to understand history.
I miss curious crazy, I honestly do, when love was so easy and I didn't know how to judge you.
When being compassionate was part of the big great plan and kindness was for every one. When sharing was fun, we both got a lot and laughter came quickly, no matter the plot.
As kids we knew how to be curious and carefree and perhaps that was a little strange. But take me back there to days of playfulness and fun because as an adult I think I now, am the crazy one!
