Cross Over

Here I am waiting,
Still waiting to cross over
Here I am waiting with hope in my hand
And listening to the people singing a new song
My heart is a little heavy
And I am not happy but I am not sad
It is the type of feeling that you get when
You just get out of bed,
A feeling of vigor mixed with uncertainty
One that makes you wants to shout
and let everything out
My passion is growing deep
And love is dancing under my feet
I can feel the mystified wind blowing
in the distance, and my spirit starts glowing
I can tell that heaven is working out a solid plan
While the crowd watched with anxiety
The horses are saddling and the people are waving
The motorcade is standing by and they are ready to fly
A heavy amour is buried in the sky
And the epiphany of hope is masquerade in the sky
While the dancing birds with wings stretched out
High is claiming its position from a distance
They have come to the region
 to make an immaculate birth
without a man or a skirt
And so the morning and the evening became one
I watched the day and the night embroiled in a fight
And it keeps everyone up until broad daylight
The misery of the day has surpassed the evening hour
And the music starts playing at the perfect hour
Way over yonder I see the bride waiting,
I can see her waiting patiently in the chamber
And the spirit of longing is jumping in the bed
It dance like a brave soldier without a gown
While she look at it without a frown
It is something that you cannot touch,
It is something that you cannot feel,
It is just the music that is so real
The fire is musing inside me
And heart is searching for thee
How long do I have to wait
for you to come and get me?
My nights are not quiet
and the morning is not still
Yet heaven is greeting me with a grin
Strange things happen when you’re seduced by the night
Strange things happen when you have to put up a fight
The lodge, the fraternity and the organs are at war
Punching the keys on the piano and shouting hosanna
Oh what hell is meeting in the sky,
Oh what hell is riding by your side
The wishful man doesn’t know where it comes from
Yet he calls himself a different brand
Who has ever thought of it?
Who has come to behold it?
We have been waiting for you so long
To cross over this dangerous land
I am waiting for you to take my hand
Big sea, big ship and giant waves
parachuting on the dish with a gigantic gold fish
They set sail all night to put out the fire before daylight
But a thousand more ships confront them on the wire
Midnight at dark and daylight in the evening
I know that you are coming for me
At daybreak or the next morning
I will be waiting to cross over with thee
Here I am with my bags and my gown
Here I am waiting without a frown
My map and my script a saucer and a dish
I am waiting on the outskirt of the town
Because I know that you will come
So please don’t let me down
I saw a glimpse of you yesterday,
I saw you when you stumble in my way
With a big broad hat and leopard prints lining your skirt
I suddenly got the message to get ready
You cross the road to the other side
And I saw a glimpse of hope in your eyes
And I know that you will not leave me here to die
For one moment I thought you were the bride
And that subtle moment made me smile
Anxious faces, beautiful races walk through the street
And stubborn hearts that is difficult to task
The music is playing quietly
And the wind is rumbling in the distance
The rain is falling to keep down the heat
But the sun comes back out again
To slap us with the brazen heat
I am waiting to cross over with thee.
