Criticized

Normally, I don’t write poems Like the one I’m about to write here…. But I think it’s fair to say, I’ll make my words loud and make them clear. Look me dead into my eyes, And tell me, what do you see? A man with a stitched, yet mended heart of gold, Or someone you’ve broken to a degree? When I speak, do you really listen? Or do my words mean nothing to you? Are you even speaking from the heart When you say “I love you?” Would I be wrong, would I be right? If I wanted you out of my sight? Cause I have no more energy to fight? So I disappear into the night, Desperately escaping the light…. I can’t stand these feelings anymore, I just want to be left alone. You constantly speak of all my flaws, As if you have a right to throw the first stone. So talk about my flaws and imperfections, About how I’m not good with my directions. Tell me I take everything to heart…. That I cry too much. Well, I say who are you? What right do you have to judge me? Who do you think you are? Last time I checked…. You’re not perfect, either…. So, please stop chastising me…. It hurts more than you know…. It makes me feel even less of person. Don’t you love and appreciate me? Don’t you?
