as the glowworms in the stygian night threw flickers of light like scattered gems, when little birdies cuddled under their mother’s warmth, while the long whistle of a train was dying in the distance, I sensed the indulgent grip of the hands of Sleep who took me to his gilded chamber of dreams!

So sweet, quietly set to the sounds that lull into the sweet and welcoming arms of a restful sleep. I love this poem Valsa <3

Your poem is delicate and enchanting, evoking the quiet beauty of nightfall through vivid, tender imagery. The glowworms casting light "like scattered gems" instantly transports the reader into a hushed, almost magical setting. Each moment the birds under their mother’s warmth, the distant fading whistle of a train builds a sense of calm, safety, and transition from wakefulness to sleep.

Dear Valsa, your poem is fantastic; it focuses on the quiet and reassuring experience of falling asleep, invoking visuals of nature and pleasant noises that create a peaceful ambiance. The theme also covers the interplay of light and darkness, youth's purity (represented by the small birds), and the transition into the dream realm, portrayed by the figure of Sleep with its "gilded chamber of dreams." Good luck in the contest.

Dearest Valsa, Ahhhh the gentle magic of night where each image a flicker of comfort, like glowworms scattering gems in darkness. I felt the hush of distant whistles, the warmth of sheltering wings, and the tender surrender to sleep’s embrace. It is amazing how even the quietest moments can shimmer with wonder and guide us softly into dreams. Your words are a soothing light. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
