Richard Lamoureux Poet Quatrain

Courageous

How does a person find courage
I ask that question every day
There are things in life that scare me
Yet still somehow I find the way

One foot in front of the other
Courage grows as I take each step
I learn those things I can't change
are now easier to accept

Still the most important answer
Is to not go it on my own
Courage always diminishes
When I'm feeling sad and alone

There is much I can accomplish
When fear doesn't get in my way
If I wish to overcome it
Courage comes whenever I pray

Sometimes the ones who seem most brave
are the ones who will run away
Those of us who are the most scared
Will find the strength in our own way
