Courage

Courage bless the poet, whose soul still writes heart still murmurs words on dirty bits of paper by the light of starbursts from antiwarcraft shells. hears the oceans roaring wonders through the outcries of humanity which lift off to wander disconsolate through generation of despair. sees beauty in a single dandelion pushing through a concrete prison yard bright sun’s daughter resplendent even to its spirit-puff dispelled by cold acid winds. poets bring a taste of life to hungry mouths mimes silenced by the greedy politic fingers broken on a rack of fear of truth. truth lives, lives eager, rabid pours from the cracks of their bodies touches, rebounds and touching again, again past all imprisonment the words glorious and abiding even in the face of god.

This is a deep write; your poem reminds me very much of Wilfred Owen's war poems...you have penned something rather special here, Patricia -- deserves far more exposure! :) john

I sometimes sit down to read a poet's work from first to current if their poem list is not too long. I was going to do this with yours today, but quickly realized your poems are like extremely rich choc'lits which must be nibbled slowly, delicately savored. I shall move your name to my preferred list and return from time to time when I desire a taste of the finest. Thanks for the bites. ~ John
