Courage

From birth I knew my hero
I called him “Tony”
Drafted in 1967
No choice to go or stay

To young to drink or vote
He went to war for this country
On September 16th 1968
He was brought down by a sniper

Wounded in the head
His courage Is not this story
Laying in an opened field
Unable to yell for help

His brother in battle “Dave”
Pulled him to safety under fire
As there were putting him into
The liftoff chopper they received fire

My brother passed away in 2015
I met my hero at Tony’s funeral
My brother named his son after Dave
"David Carroll" A man of courage

My Hero

"The Picture above is my brother Tony"

So sorry about your brother dear Bobby - but how courageous and brave these soldiers were unlike what Trump thinks of the military in those years - such a blow to have a President think like that. I think your brother was awesome - although you are sad you must feel such pride. blessings and hugs, Jenn. Blessngs and hugs my friend Jenn

Oh, God, Bobby. I'm sorry about your brother, he must have died at around age 67. What an incredible time it would have been for you five years ago, meeting Dave. He was able to have a better life's tenure because of him. How marvellous that there's a next generation Dave to carry hero's namesake on. Well deserved Win, wonderful story.
