Count Down

Like an hour glass, I watch people around me grow and grow. The sand is running down. Day by day, year by year. I was raised without the possibility of death. I'm orphaned from the life so beautiful, the scenery so new and unexplored. I see in the mirror of what was so young, alive and innocent. I feel as though I'm to be forgotten like a daily routine.

Hi Matthew: Welcome to PoetrySoup. Man’s mind can visit memories and future hopes but to be the most free is to live in the moment. Time seems to be speeding up, the more we try to fit into our lives. Very thought provoking poem. Blessings, SuZ

Thank you for the comments SuZ. I'm glad this spurred some thought. That's one of the great compliments of a writer to hear. Have a blessed day.
