Could You Spare Me a Dime? (Age:11)
Day after day,
Time after time;
I see people on corners asking,
"Could you spare me a dime?"
All day long,
We all pass them by;
Some choose to give,
But truthfully, most don't reply.
"They'll spend it on drugs!"
"They'll spend it on beer!"
But what about those,
Who are truly sincere.
We all still need to give,
Even though it gets hard;
Because of the scams,
Society has been scarred.
We can't just give up,
And choose not to care;
Because there are people,
Still hungry out there.
A good rule of thumb,
When you give money away;
Think of the life,
You could be saving today.
