Could Have Done It All

Listen to poem:
Nostalgia sets in as I wonder Whatever happened to you Already a star in grade eight So edgy, a trendsetter Destined for great things The big screen, the arts, the world You could have done anything You could have done it all You had flair while the rest of us Could scarcely pull off a top and a pair of jeans Hopefully you lived your dream Whatever it may have been And had an amazing life Everyone of us were behind you You left your mark on us And we still remember How awesome you were Though we lost touch Some fifty some years ago AP: 2nd place 2021, Honorable Mention 2022 Submitted on September 11, 2017 for contest GROUND EDGES sponsored by JOHN LAWLESS

Did you ever find her again? This piece has really touched my heart and I don't quite understand why. So simple but brimming with feeling. I like it.
