Confidence
Confidence
Many a soul in youth conceives
The world as a shrine of goodness,
From the depth of his heart perceives
Man as an offshoot of kindness
Dreams of the brotherhood of man
Upholds the flag of peace up high
And views earth as a divine land
Pitched under the heavenly sky.
Yet when stinking reality
Spears aloft its venomous head,
One may be appalled verily
And lose faith in the world instead
Raise doubts on credence of some men
Who with the instinct to survive
Do not spare any foes or friends
But can stab them to be alive.
Many a folk in youth hankers
For those at the helm of the state
To have clear minds free from blunders,
Soundly manage a country`s fate
Bring rays of hope to weaker souls
Hail fresh shines through the country`s gate,
But first, foremost and above all
Safeguard interests of the state.
Yet when glaring truth comes to light,
Truth that`s often hard to digest,
It obliterates one`s delight
Gives rise to ripples of stark stress
And confidence loss in leaders,
Who promise heaven and the sky
To retain or come to power
Caring not whence resource will fly.
Some leaders yearn the state to change,
Uplift moral values of man,
Render the land less and less strange
Ward off folks from sinking in dens;
Yet promises don`t feed bellies
Nor does man live on hope alone;
Lofty promises smack smelly
And are seedbed of the unknown.
Captains who wish to steer the boat
And save passengers from a wreck
Do not glance at shine of their coat,
But as stalwarts stand on the deck
Safeguard passengers from harsh gales
Clear delusions of folks away
Properly reorient the sails
And bring confidence to heyday-
Confidence in every action
And in every institution.
