Confession

My room has shadows dancing with light,
I sit and ponder night after night.
The clock is ticking softly but bold,
The end is near; no need to fight.

Once, I was chasing sunsets with ease.
Dancing with roses just like the bees.
Now I’m ready, fly with my soul,
facing the silence whenever I please.

I am fading like whispers on air,
lost in the echoes, no one to care.
This chapter is closing faster than fast.
Getting old and grey, nothing to share.

I crossed mountain highs sometimes with roars,
watching the sunsets leaving the shores.
All the stories, blinded my eyes.
Every story was merely folklore.

With each breath I’ll take, stories untold.
Words from the heart are golden than gold.
There is nothing there, no open door.
You think of dying when you are old.

My life was rich, but lots of scars.
So much, I painted moonlight and stars.
Who will remember what I have done?
All of that moonlight shines on my scars.

Living and dying are both parts of life,
We shouldn’t fake it in sorrow or strife.
Every heartbeat is beating for you.
My love is larger, larger than life.

If I die, I want you to know,
You are the star of my daily show.
Every breath echoes my love for you.
Love is the reason I told you so.

Hello, Pashang! It's been a long time since our paths last crossed! Rubaiyat has always been one of your favourite Persian forms, and this offering of yours shows that you have not lost your touch. ~ Congratulations and may your book bring you much success. ~ Best regards // paul

Hey, Pashang. Yes I kind of remember you. Your name is very familiar and I know there was someone who lived Rubaiyat, so it makes sense it was you. Congrats on your book. Hope you are here to stay
