Compassionate Christ

Peace of knowing my soul He did save;
Love of us He so graciously gave.
Understanding our Eden-banned loss;
Mercy He showed even on the cross.

What more could a poetry fan ask for: rhyme, acrostic for the prompt, plus passion for your subject- Christ. That last line is the crux, even in indescrible pain and sorrow, Jesus showed mercy to a repentant thief. Congratulations on your brevity - winning piece.
