Title: Compartmentalization

My dear, hear me and not my perceived guilt For my distancing quiet you demean It is not a wall but a guard I built To keep my darker heart in quarantine A bitter thorn in a twisted ravine If some midnights produce a muzzled roar Escaping the planks of my placid floor Allow me this one secret to withhold It is for our love I don't show you more These stones too crushing to leave uncontrolled 08/02/23

Michelle, you have a dazzling talent for telling a complex story within a compact space. I study your works to learn how it can be done and I readily admit your writing has had a positive influence upon my own. The power of your word pairing and phrasing is mind-blowing. "keep my darker heart in quarantine", "These stones too crushing to leave uncontrolled", "A bitter thorn in a twisted ravine"... all awesome. The message is so incredible in a psychological, yet uplifting and loving way. And all within the restrictive constraints of a Dizain format! Another Fav for me.

I actually was not too sure of this one, was considering removing it so it cheers me up that you enjoyed it, and I hope you have some new poems soon for me to enjoy!

Mysterious closing, Michelle, I liked it. I don't see this form of poetry often, nice writing, my friend. Bill
