Common Sense Corona

Light ribbons in one eye we fear
Precede headache pain that's severe
Drug firms clearly bribe
Physicians to prescribe
Migraine meds but I'll imbibe beer

Authors Note: If you are in a safe place (not driving or operating machinery), this home remedy could be better than what the doctor ordered. I keep a few medicinal bottles ready in the fridge for just such an emergency. Lime is optional.

The clinical trial: An authentic "migraine" headache is accompanied by blood vessel constriction. There can be 15 to 30 minutes of shimmering lights in one eye followed by a headache from hell. Having learned that alcohol dilates blood vessels, one day I tried chugging a beer just after the shimmering started. The lights subsided and there was no headache. Beer just may be the second best medicine ever created.

I'm kidding Duke, I do not drink on any occasion. I'm probably the most boring adult you will find down here in Texas. Thank you for the reply to my comment. LINDA

I can't believe it. I found a limerick i had not read yet!! So did you drink the beer right after taking this weird medicine they prescribe? Or was it the sole medication for you, just the beer alone? hahaha. (I hate the taste of beer. Sure glad I don't get migraines.)

It was the sole medication. Since it is a vaso-dilator it mitigates the migraine. My own experience is that it prevents them from returning. This is not what big pharma wants us to know. I am still thinking about unicorns in the ocean!

Ha Ha!...Let's just put it this way, I don't get migraines!... Laughter being the BEST medicine, I wish I could take more of that OTHER best medicine but alas, my prescription ran out and I can't find anyone willing to refill it...

A drink at the right time can work miracles. At the wrong time--it can be a disaster!!

Everyone's experience will be different, but it is at least worth a try. Please let me know how you make out.

No migraines recently. The effect of knocking them off this way seems to prevent recurrences. This has worked for my wife too.
