Committed To What

Your promises don’t inspire me, they seem insincere Always floating, shifting commitments, the details are artfully dodgy Arranged in such a way, they might as well be confirmed by a ghost And those serpentine friends of yours are snake whisperers Subtle and sly ... secretive as a spy You and them seem to always have a ready, set, good-to-go lie With a burn notice prepared ... stage exit right in the blink of an eye Split second goodbye You’re always acting like Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde Feels like I’m loving two people at once, and my mind’s gonna explode inside Answer me this, baby why am I still committed to us? This is a love ride I can’t trust I’m standing in the front, and you’re sitting in the back of the bus Separated by two affairs with former lovers you never truly gave up Separated by six degrees of lust May I ask you this: tell me, you are committed to what? Your loose ways, I’ve just about had enough Plus, letting your friends all the time come between us Seems they’re always trying to split us up I thought you wanted to settle into one set of arms, put your wild filly days behind you Start life anew, just me and you kicking it on a rendezvous for two But it seems you still wanna be a **** Sorry, I’m not committed to getting my heart separated, time for me to make a clean cut Hope I meet you later in life when you got yourself together Right now, you got too many split personalities to love I can’t commit to getting driven insane by your Ms. Hyde schizophrenia

She sounds like she was tethered to drama and couldn't cut the cord, and to me, your poem conveyed that masterfully. :) Amitiés

Wow, that was crazy or she was/is. Mood swings weren't on the playground when I was growing up, I don't need them now either. Down and dirty Freddie. Yep, this one (or two) you need to avoid. This read loud but very cool. Oh, an the captcha or validation code for this comment is RAW. That's appropriate.
