Coming Winter G.T. (3)

But there’s a winter, Of a splinter, Of a sinner, That must be removed, Either by reprove, Or lining up in love’s groove, The winter will come, Or the mind will learn, To discern, How splinters, Enter, Into the mind’s eye, Like a sty, Either way evil will end, So that life may begin, The gin, Of the cotton, Forgotten, Of the first begotten, Even the sottish, Is of the begotten, But his lying about love, Just so he can be gov, Will never be love, From above, For there is no substance, Without Love’s faith, Love makes it’s own cake, Without which the mind would quake, In it’s thoughts which are fake, Without the cake, Love has baked, Even for the mind’s sake, When humanity be, It’s mind’s twiddle dee, It can never be, For it has no power, To make, Much less bake , A cake, For it’s thoughts are fake, Without love’s self, it quakes, For love’s self is, The cake, already baked, From above of love! 8-17-09 johnmosesfreeman@yahoo.com

John, you've got this one right on. When my husband and I took a course on how to concil couples who were to be wed the teacher who was a preacher used some crude words to express the ideas here. He said to ask the couple is it l___t or love. There is a difference. Love is the only one that will work. Sara

"And why beholdest thou the mote in thy brother's eye, but percieveth not the beam that is in thine own eye?" Jesus tells us in the King James version... so, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"... And thanks for your kind comments too! - Tim

wow, I could go for a slice of cake after reading this Jonh:) I love the splinter line in verse 2, reminds me of a Jesus saying along the same lines, to remove the splinter out of your brother's eyes so he can see, first take out the log in your own eye. only then will you know how to remove your brothers' I'm paraphrasing heavily though, I think it's from the Gospel of Thomas. Beautiful work John. -Yoni

You convey well all the ingredients to "love's cake." Sometimes, I feel half-baked, longing to find the faith that will help complete life's journey. Indeed, "there is not substance without Love's faith." God bless you for reminding me, Moses. I will hold on to these words of inspiration and hope to find love, even if only in God's eyes. Brilliant writing, my friend. Love, Carolyn
