Comfort Zone
Nobody really knows the real you
They only see what you want them to
One of life’s perks is freedom of choice
Stay quietly hidden or raise your voice
Show just a glimpse to avoid heartache
No way to love fully, but your choice to make
Be careful so this does not become
A zone of comfort, a struggle for some
Protection of self, on top of your list
Shielding kindred from oblivious abyss
And fallen angels are scattered about
War casualties, alone in the wake of doubt
Forlorn and forgotten since long ago
Similar spirits see more than you know
