Come To Me

From my heart rises an incessant cry Like a stormy wind gaining in force and fury With every passing moment, It becomes a tumultuous roar “I want Thee, My God and My Lord I want none but Thee”! I earnestly entreat Be with me, not before or behind But by my side and all around Enter the soundlessness of my being Transmute my silence into sheer joy Play on my tight strung sitar strings And fill the eerie silence with euphonic melody I wait here with my lamp lit and burning Expectant and anxious in this murky gloom Glue up the broken shards and make me whole Grant this frail reed its unshakable strength! Over the loud vociferation of this world I call your name aloud in weal and woe. Placed First Brian Strand Poetry Contest (1051)

Bless you soul words and the love and graditude you show for the Lord. The Spirit within me identifies with the Spirit within you; for they are the same Spirit known onlt as Love. Thank you for sharing this soulful poem with us. Peace and blessings upon you my friend, Bill

Dear Valsa, This poem is a prayer - it's deep and moving. You might be familiar with Tagore's Geetanjali poems. This poem feels like those spiritual compositions. Love and warm wishes ~ Mala

Tagore's Gitanjali , I love ! I assume that you are from his land. I feel honored to think that my poem has a touch of Tagore's devotional hymns . Thank you so much Malabika !

Seems to me that you have filled that 'frail reed' with a will of iron, Valsa. Beautifully penned. Light and Love, Gershon
