Notes About The Poem

A form of poetry created by poet Robert Keim in 2008. It is a 50-line poem of
short phrases and images. The "Blitz" poem is well-named, as the fifty short
lines are read in rapid-fire fashion. “The form really relies on sound and
rapid "flow." ~Rob Keim.
Here are the rules:
Line 1 should be one short phrase or image (like “build a boat”)
Line 2 should be another short phrase or image using the same first word as the
first word in Line 1 (something like “build a house”)
Lines 3 and 4 should be short phrases or images using the last word of Line 2
as their first words (so Line 3 might be “house for sale” and Line 4 might be
“house for rent”)
Lines 5 and 6 should be short phrases or images using the last word of Line 4
as their first words, and so on until you’ve made it through 48 lines
Line 49 should be the last word of Line 48
Line 50 should be the last word of Line 47
The title of the poem should be three words long and follow this format: (first
word of Line 3) (preposition or conjunction) (first word of line 47)
There should be no punctuation, except for an ellipses after the final two words
in lines 49 & 50.

What an invigorating "blitz" through a kaleidoscope of colour's, Silent One! I tell my art students we are meant to be creative with color... It's a visual language instintly interpreted, in nanoseconds, by our brain's ability to recognize millions of colours in an instant. Each colour's Poetic name giving us its personality in our minds eye, ready to be expressed as a pigment of creativity, uniquely human. "Poetry is a vibrant palette of love" Yes, indeed.

A poem painted in colors and studded with gems. Although I am not at all familiar with this form, from the way you have composed it, I feel that the outcome is excellent. Its close affinity to Nature makes it excellent ! "Personality is portrayed in poetry/ Poetry is a pigment of creativity" Perfect conclusion. The words used are relatively simple and less ornate unlike your usual writes. Still there is so much beauty and flow for this poem. Sorry, due to some travel, I can't read many poems.

This dramatic 'Blitz' poem and its short emphatic lines are vibrantly expressed within an array of magnificent colours and use of the name of jewels like sapphire, turquoise, ivory, whilst expressing components of mother Earth, green moss, rainbow roots ' Brown is compost for soil'. Truly 'Personality is portrayed in poetry, Poetry is a pigment of creativity'. - Love this 50 line creative example of Robert Kleim's form of poetry - exquisitely written SO my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Aww such a creative expression once again.. I am feeling pumped to write a blitz too again after like 3 years. I remember you taught this us at Insta Thank you so much for the learning experience. Though I failed twice at forming a clean pretty blitz I guess.. but totally enjoyed writing it then. In this one, I loved your use of colors, stones, gems, and all the aesthetic things, so poetic brother. You are just brilliant!
