Color My World

If I could see all colors Would my favorite be red The color of passion Rose petals on the bed Perhaps I would choose green In pastures we could lay Being there beside you Would take my cares away I'm inclined to choose brown The color of your eyes I already love them They are gentle and wise I don't think I'd choose blue It just sounds way too sad I might prefer purple If that one makes you glad You bring me the colors The ones I cannot see You're the unseen rainbow That can be seen by me My favorite is yellow The one color I see I bathe in your sunlight Every day you're with me Dedicated to my sweetie, written by her colored blind husband. Happy Mothers Day to the love of my life

I had no idea you were color blind, Rick. It seems with every color blind person I meet it's always yellow that is the one color they see best. Your Yellow Shoes poem makes a lot more sense to me now! Lovely tribute btw... I'm sure she will appreciate it!

Richard, thank you for the sweet comment. It s hard to keep up with so many poets. However from here on I will never take my good poet friends for granted. Many poets here have been nothing but good to me. Sometimes I forget them when I'm all coiled up with my own problems. I keep telling myself everyone is alike and I should be like them, but I am wrong we are all different, and I should go back and start being myself. Go back, and enjoy everyone the way I would in the past. You are a wonderful man, and I thank you for that one day you reached out to me a long while back. well not that long ago :-).... LINDA
