I approach her with the same Love I approach my family with. Her skin is black. I try to speak a few words in her Native language to welcome her. Her skin is brown. I married a Chinese/Hawaiian and our child is beautiful. His skin is yellow/brown. I write poetry about the Native Americans to celebrate them. Their skin is red. I fit in with every race because My color contains all colors. My skin is white. © Connie Marcum Wong Note: In honor of all the recent innocent deaths.

Connie, when the Bible talks about us being made in God's image, it is not referring to skin color. A lovely write from a sweet lady.

Thank you so much for honoring my simple little poem with a fave Sandra. I try to write so that my little granddaughter can understand my poetry. She listened to this, but I am not sure she understood all of it yet, but I explained it to her. Thank you again for your lovely comment and the fave! Blessings, Connie ; )

We have the new mini series Roots playing here at the moment. For the life of me I can not understand how the pigmentation of someone's skin was/is such an issue to so many. Beautiful poem took me back to the song "Melting Pot"

Both the poem and the message within are beautiful, Connie. Colour should never lead to hate and discrimination! Let's give a bright and meaningful texture to diversity! #7 Warm regards // paul

This is wonderful, Connie! It doesn't matter what color our skin is, we are all human beings and should all be treated with respect. Blessings!
