Cold Night -Teddy's Journey Iii-

Hark! Hear the bells ringing out, On this chilly night of liveliness. All around me, life continues on, As if I do not matter, I am worthless. Festivities and such continue, Children and couples glance. Shops have their doors wide, While scents and lights dance. But I am here, all alone under, A street light that breaks the dark. My feeble voice that reaches nowhere, So I cry out to the angels; Hark! Hark! Singing those melodies I once loved, But despising them all the same. Oh God, or whatever is in the Heavens, Will I truly lose in this game? All of them look at me with despair, As if I am a monster, an inhuman thing. But I sit there and sing, for that’s all I can, While wondering what tomorrow will bring. Hunger pangs my stomach, cramping, All of my scars are exposed to the world. The thin rag of a shirt I wear is nothing, As the wind blows with it’s wings unfurled. But somehow, I continue to sing, Even if my voice will never resound. I cry out soundlessly again to the Heavens, Angels, take this thing from the ground. Before I lose hope, a frail voice cancels my bereave, And with a kind heart and a warm hand, I can leave.
