Cloud Cover

Out on the distant horizon of gray, through the clouds, a soft golden glow. The sun, appeared as a spotlight's ray, touching the dark ocean below. The waves rose with no crest at all, breaking with a hint of swirling white. Gaining no height, there was no fall, water rippling was ever so slight. Sadly the spotlight began to fade, into the increasing cloud cover. The sun was unable to evade, the dense gray continuing to hover.
