I love taking photographs of flowers,
on a summer day with long hot hours;
now, that sweet, sweet heat is fading away,
and the days are full of falling showers.
Like flowers- to summer I am clinging,
and on long walks a picnic lunch bringing;
I am just not ready to say goodby,
but lay under the sun with birds singing.
A dying beauty I cannot deny,
is breathtaking as flowers in July;
yes, I will miss the blooms of summer,
no more photos of sweet gardens- oh my.
I will miss the iridescent hummer,
woodpecker outside - my little drummer;
I am clinging summer, please just don't go,
would like to turn back time to midsummer.
