Laurel and fern whisper to the silent night Blended with the heady scent of thickets Moss shelters rocky slopes beneath moonlight Dreams unfold while listening to the crickets Songs so bold, crisp and full of tender hope Blended with the heady scent of thickets Poison ivy and every vine will cling and grope Erasing all the doubt from those in prayer Songs so bold, crisp and full of tender hope Wild and wonderful, the woods never despair There, amid the pine, there is peace so alive Erasing all the doubt from those in prayer Hearts are delighted, inspired so they thrive Gentling even the darkness, tenderness grows There, amid the pine, there is peace so alive Beneath a lustrous moon, leaves will compose Laurel and fern whisper to the silent night Gentling even the darkness, tenderness grows Moss shelters rocky slopes beneath moonlight 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 8 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mark Toney July 16, 2022

Dearest Gina, your vibrant yet tender imagery brings me there, amid the pine. Such exquisite expression framed in the beauty of the terzanelle. Congratulations for your excellent win in Mark’s contest. Warmest wishes and hugs, my sweet friend.. ~Susan

Regina, your terzanelle is brilliant and its title so appealing. I particularly love the positive and hopeful message in the fifth stanza "Hearts are delighted, inspired so they thrive ~ Gentling even the darkness, tenderness grows ~ There, amid the pine, there is peace so alive." That's what the world needs now! Congratulations on your win on mile 8 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Keep your running shoes on, because Mile 9 has already started!

what an amazing terzanelle. They are SO hard to do. I won last time with a terzanelle, and you won this time with one. Good to know he likes this form. you did excellently with it.
