Church
I found my God
In a sunset over the Grand Canyon
When I was seventeen
And afraid of love
I'm still afraid
But religion's abandoned the Canyon
And taken residence in your bedroom
Your pillow is my altar
I kneel and pray
My hand on your chest
The blanket tangled in our legs
Light a candle for our Tuesdays
Our fifth blocks
And Saturday afternoons
Put a thumb to my forehead
And bless me
Perform your sermons alongside mine
And introduce me to the Savior
Between your sheets
