Christmas Tree: Organic Form, Artificial Symbol

Towering, organic orifice; Spiring, glistening steeple Wholesome, organic form; Brokered, burnished symbol Environmentally-conditioned organism; Artificially-renovated copse Bland, earthy edifice; Bright, glowing orb Dull, lifeless timber; Vibrant, veiled oracle Shielded, sheltered ember; Shiny, showcased beacon Soaring, sylvan sentinel; Stunted, cropped cinder Cherished, nourished fodder; Chosen, sanctified shroud Pristine, woody carbine; Refinished, domesticated chalice

We are having our first laying snowfall this morning in Springfield,Ohio. December 1,2010 what a way to enter this month. It is absolutely beautiful and finds me in good spirits. I have enjoyed reading your poetry this morning Stephen. Looking forward to reading more. Have a wonderful day. Love, Carol

Interesting terminology relating to the Christmas Tree...They sometimes seem cold and artificial but home can bring life into the tree whether cut once live tree or one artificial from the store or one in a bucket of dirt that is to be replanted the decorations can bring life..Thanks for stopping by and understanding the shaken coke spewing forth like fog..Sara

I love the sharp contrasts in each line, Stephen. Sort of a "what it is vs what it should be" analogy. Excellent poem! Best wishes, Carolyn
