Notes About The Poem

Christmas Treats

Christmas came to the town of Asheville
Each one asked St. Nick for a treadmill
Instead, he gave them bikes
Treating them all like tikes
Then he told them to cycle uphill

~~~~~
Santa had to borrow a reindeer
Heading out toward the wild frontier
The reindeer was too slow
And its blue nose didn’t glow
Plus it didn’t ever go in high gear
~~~~~

The Christmas tree wasn’t quite green this year
Frankly, it didn’t fill the house with cheer
It was so dark and grey
Even straining the sleigh
All who saw it were driven to jeer

Looks as if Santa's on the treadmill himself in the picture, Regina! Congrats to you on your high-placement win in the contest! Holiday Laughter and Joy! :) Gershon
