~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I pray for God to shine His light,
Down on us, who remember the night
When a Savior was born, the way and life
The One who would relieve us from our strife
I pray for God to seek those who’re lost
The ones who will never count the cost
Because of love, He silences all our fears
Sends His peace and wipes away our tears
I pray for God to open our eyes so we can see
Beyond the darkness, beyond the doubt in my plea
I hope He sheds light on the forever – with His grace
Silencing the worries and sending love with each embrace
I pray for God to listen to what my heart speaks
Words of joy, words that comfort through the weeks
Humbling souls so heaven is our greatest need
Remembering that even the stars have been freed
I pray for God to pour out His love across our lives
Seeking souls who His promise of life always revives
Collecting dreams and offering healing for our pain
Even though He is so powerful and has nothing to gain
I pray for God to wash our souls in His sacred blood
Pouring out light divine through the unending flood
Amazing our hearts as they turn from dark to light
Coloring spirits with peace that makes everything right
I pray for God to invite us to His table, the generosity
Hope, faith and love that doesn’t depend on reciprocity
The warmth of grace that will save us from our faults
Kindling light who will shine joy louder than thunderbolts
I pray for God to reach beyond His heavenly home
To seek each sinner, saving the souls who often roam
Speak His wisdom to the hearts who need to hear
His loving spirit abides inside those who keep Him near
I pray for God to fill this season with His wonders
With a trembling light who shines through thunders
Forcing each soul to listen to what He is saying
With this Christmas, never give up, just keep praying
I pray that God never stops His saving!
