Christmas On the 4th of July
One summers eve in the mddle of winter
I shoveled the beach sand and snow my hands broke but I didnt need a splinter
A got a sunburn while it was very cold
The flowers were in full bloom but wilted and old
I went for a swim but almost froze in the ice
It was sleeting hard but the sun felt nice
I looked at my clear compass but the frost fogged my heading
I watched people surf and the other half were sledding
Will I sleep longer from this dream or wake from this nightmare and cry
Or will I forever celebrate Christmas on the 4th of July
