Christmas In July

There was a little girl. She was Sue May, and sweet was she. Of that there was no doubt. It happened she’d been born on Christmas day, so on that day, poor Sue May got left out. Her many siblings raced down to the tree with Sue to find their presents piled up there. How quickly they tore wrapping off with glee. But Christmas for them ALL seemed not quite fair. A child needs special recognition on their day of birth. Though she did not complain, Sue’s parents over her could barely fawn, and gladness for her cake Sue used to feign. The summer after her sixth birthday, Sue walked in her house, met with a happy cry of Happy Birthday from all whom she knew. Her parents gave her Christmas in July! Wise parents Andrea! I knew a man with two children BOTH born on Christmas. The kids got to chose any day of the year to celebrate their birthdays! This cute poem captures the downside of a Christmas birthday and the upside of caring parents! Congrats and high fives!

Hi Andrea, I love this wonderful write. It is sad sometimes for those who have their birthdays so close to Christmas. I like that idea, give her, her special day in July. Love the concept, Andrea. Good luck in the contest. Has to be a happy fave. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs always ..... Mike. XX

I can understand Sue's mind ! Christmas is already a day of celebration. So she doen't get any special attention on that day.... though it happens to be her birthday too. Her wise parents, reading her mind made it in July...! Very clever.... Andrea !

I understand Sue May’s predicament, Andrea. I’ve always felt sorry for Jesus for being born on Christmas Day ;-). All the best in Tanya’s contest. Terry

I think that would be a terrific idea for someone born so close to Christmas or on Christmas day. My best friend’s birthday was December 23 and she always felt like she kind of got left out on her birthday. I kind of celebrate Christmas in July by buying gifts for Christmas early because of my kids having their birthdays in November so close to Christmas I try to even out my buying so it’s not so expensive at the end of the year. This is a great entry Andrea. Blessings xxoo

My two dear granddaughters are Dec. 26 and 27. Now older, ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY, so it's weird giving twice the money to them than to the grandson. So weird when kids get older!!

Well i'm so glad for Sue - Christmas day birthdays seem unfair, and yet what a glorious day to be born on. I,m so hapyy Andrea i'm to be a granny soon after 17 years that they didn't want - their lives took a turn for the better, the baby is due early January, but who knows it could be a Christmas Day baby, Hugs and Blessings
