Christmas Eve
The night air, crisp and cool;
A trillion stars overhead;
Alabaster snowflakes
Tumble to the ground in silence.
Manger scenes behind glass,
Festive colored lights on eaves.
Distant carolers,
Harmony rising above the blustery breeze.
The silver tinkle of sleigh bells,
Santa's sleigh at the edge of imagination.
Children fast asleep,
Gleefully dreaming of tomorrow.
A quiet hearth glows.
