Sometimes some people get so caught up in themselves and their own GOODNESS that their tongue gets caught on their eye tooth and they can't see what they are saying. Thus they end of making enemies instead of friends. Some people seem to think they are such GOOD CHRISTIANS that it is their personal responsibility to adjure and correct their brothers and sisters and to convert all those sinners that never come to church. Christians like that send people running FROM the church not TO it. We can't tell others how horrible they are. We can't shame them into going to church. We have to INVITE them to come with us. And if they want to pass it up for now let them. Then invite them again when we are having a church supper or picnic. Make it an INVITATION not an order.
You wrinkle up your nose,
At your neighbor's dirty doorstep,
Peering through the grimy streaks,
Upon his window pane.
Making fun, reminding him,
Lest anyone forget,
The shameless way he's led his life,
His only claim to fame.
You point out each and every fault,
Each source of strife, contention.
No one that you know is safe.
You preach and you adjure.
'Cause saving their immortal souls,
Is your main intention.
You want to help them mend their ways,
To turn from things impure.
You don't mean to cause upset,
Don't mean to cause contention,
When you point out their short comings,
With helpful criticism.
You're only trying to help them,
Because you're a good Christian;
But they only feel your curses,
and your spiteful cynicism
