Notes About The Poem

I used to live in Strasbourg, France.  The restaurants there are famous for slow cooked sauerkraut with ham, sausages, potatoes, slowly simmered in white wine.  It is a family favorite ad easy to make.

Peel, chop large, and boil a few potatoes. Steam and chop several of your favorite sausages. Partly cook some strips of bacon. Put them all into a large pot of sauerkraut, and slow cook with some reisling (or white grape juice) and a few cloves for flavor. Used to eat this often when I lived in Strasbourg.
