My parents called them love birds and loved to watch them raise their young..Sara
Once again out to the chilled air
For my ten minutes rest
Coming out the door a prayer
From my lips a request
To the porch so many times
Before, but now Bue Bird
Flew across the yard climbs
High, as the cold air stirred
Beneath his lovely strong blue wings.
Then I spied the reason
For his flight's fast and upward swing.
Bird house gone; last season
It fell from its place in the shade.
It had been placed there long
Ago, parents watched as birds played
And listened to their song.
My prayer request has rested.
New prayer now on lips
Let me find way uncontested
House that Blue Birds worships.
In honor of Brian Strand
