Hi Eve. And so it was on the farm but we all knew we were loved and treasured. No ice cream unless we made it ourselves. Congratulations on your win! Linda

Life is different for each child. Some have healthier experiences than others. This was sad to me, it tugged on my heart. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

'Children seen, not hear' about sums it up for those times... Now on the internet, nobody's seen, everybody's heard. Go figure...

Sometimes life is not easy, and childhood can be difficult at its best. I hope this was about a family you knew and not your own. If it is your own, I hope that you got in adulthood some of what you missed in your childhood. I appreciate your visit to my blog. I have done some updates. SK

Can be related! Sometimes I just wish I could go back in time and stay young forever with little to worry about. A great write! Have a great day!:)

The fact that I used to go swimming a lot helps. Today I feel dry but dreams remain. Hugs.

Ah, sounds so familiar, Eve. I suspect we are close to the same generation...same experiences! Thanks for sharing.

Your opening is so poignant, Eve, it tugs the heart. And so does the ending line. Sometimes life is so! Emotions well conveyed.
