Chiaroscuro

From purest white to deepest black
And finite grays between,
The chiaroscuro images
As yet remain unseen.

A canvas taut and unadorned
Before your strokes begin,
So too, a poem lies in repose,
As tethered words within.

Emotion is the shepherd of
Our vision to complete.
Inspired, we highlight, shadowing,
In disparate technique.

As paint will blend, so words will rhyme
In varied routes depart,
Then end its journey to a mind
With pleas to win its heart.

Congratulations on your poem being featured this week. " A poet, unlikely a painter, uses words to create what his adventurous soul feels- those emotions hidden within...until they find that voice willing and capable of bringing them into the light. " The images you portray are vivid and yet melancholic. Beautiful verses written with passion and insight. Keep up the great work, Gene. Best Wishes, Andrew.

Thanks, Avesha. I appreciate your comment. One of my majors in college was Art, which influenced the decision to use the theme of "Chiaroscuro" and inter-connecting it with poetry. Composing is a sibling to the creative, emotional aspect of our minds. Much appreciated, Gene Bourne.
