Cherished
Perhaps when the last bough has sailed away
And I stand here alone on twilight's plea,
I will remember each and every day
When gentle eyes kissed fears so tenderly.
I cherished our seasons through pain or shine
You opened love’s vessel to catch dawn’s tide ,
More than a father, a gift of lifetime
Until night cuddled wisps of your last glide.
A thankful song brings memories’ relief
Defining not what life is all about,
So sing with angels and take flight so brief
And will my wings to climb without a doubt.
This breath now calm on our hometown's lagoon
A journey far where your face lights the moon.
