It works, indeed. Red wine spilled at our housewarming party on the cream carpet, friend went home to get box of salt, and voila, no stain!

I'm told salt or white wine on red wine stains does the trick - but of course the best thing is not to spill it in the first place!:-) hugs Jan xx

I'm reliably informed that salt or white wine can get rid of the stain - now who would waste a good Chardonnay when salt would do - that said I rarely drink alcohol so I wouldn't have to try it :-) hugs Jan xx
