Cheers
I sing this morn of England's day
they say it's not the thing to do
for we're English ,through and through,
not needed,when red on the map,held sway;
Though this short verse is not a lot,
penned to show England is not forgot;
Of one achievement only,I will boast
and give you this day a toast:
In this fair land you may never alight,
each day in its 'mongrel tongue' we write.
I will toast it with a glass or two
and hope that you may do so too.
England's National day is this week 23rd and this is
an example of the kind of theme for my new contest' SONNET ME'
